Not Again

Well I've got that nostalgia killin me again. It's just past 2:00am. I've got class, but not until just after noon. My nostalgia is forcing me into binging on music from my childhood. Quite possibly not the best solution. I'm probably just adding more fuel to the fire.

But - I figured I'd throw up a painting. It's by Georgio de Chirico who is one of my favorite painters. This particular painting is entitled "Nostalgia of the Infinite". You can see two people, seemingly tiny, talking beneath the large surroundings.

Well, that's it for now.

Ahh

I'm stuck in Kentucky right now. I get to move back to the city in a week and a half, but I'm enjoying my stay here.

Anyways - I figured I add another random post. I want a motorcycle. I've never really been into them, but they've always seemed fun and free. I would look rediculous on a huge Harley and would feel like a douche bag if I had a crotch rocket. But, I ran across this picture and I'd love this kind of bike:

And another picture of the bike alone:

The bike is a Triumph Thruxton 900. According to Power Sports ATV, "The 2008 Triumph Thruxton 900 is a Standard Style Motorcycle equipped with an 865cc, Air Cooled, Parallel Twin, DOHC, 4-Stroke Engine and a 5-Speed Manual Transmission. It has a Telescopic Fork Front Suspension while the Rear Suspension consists of a Twin Sided Swing Arm. The Thruxton 900 has Front Disc Brakes and Rear Disc Brakes. The Thruxton 900 weighs 451 lbs. and has a ground clearance of -50014- inches. The Thruxton 900 was introduced in 2004 and is Carryover for 2008. It includes a 24 month Limited warranty." And, it's only around $8,000. Pimpin.

The Triumph Thruxton 900 is a modern version of the Cafe Racers from the mid 60's. Cafe Racers have a lot of history in European culture, and I could not do it justice. But, I'll give a very brief summary of their history.

Cafe Racers were developed to be nimble and quick around the sharp curves and turns on the roads in London. They created a bike that could take turns easily, as well as something that had speed.

Cafe Racers also describes bikers who road Cafe Racers. They would turn a record on a juke box at a cafe (The Ace Cafe being the most famous), and race to another Cafe and back before the song was finished.

I like the fact that the bike I want has some good history to it.
